David Reed's
catch at buoy 42
Not many fish caught in the Deltaville Tournament. I agree with Butch Cornelius'
(The "North Star") assessment; "that the fish were there but, so was every idiot with an outboard motor". Butch fished the cut channel Saturday and caught 4 fish all day (lots of Bait). We fished at 42 (again lots of bait). Too many boats scaring away the fish in the top of the water column. Our big fish hit a 'Pac Man Barney' at about 25 feet depth. We had one other pull down and lost a 26-28 inch fish at the boat.

FYI Butch had 11 large in the boat yesterday (Monday, after tournament) by 9:30am
(at the cut channel). Go figure (no boats more fish).

Scruppy, Steve, Dave, Mark & Nick worked hard to capture 4 flounder up to 25 1/2 inches and a few croaker in spite of 20 mph wind out of the north east on Saturday 7/23/05 north of the cell. These determined Annapolis anglers had to use 20 ounces of lead to keep their baits on the bottom. Steve Flippo and crew enjoyed the day in spite of less than ideal conditions!

May 29, 2005
Enjoyed wonderful day Sunday May 29 fishing with Randall & Todd Eliason- great customers & great fishermen!. Caught limit of fat rockfish in no time and went south to capture several fat croakers and a bluefish.

May 2005 Trollers are still having success when the jumbo's are found. Chummers are eating them up at the Northern Neck Reef. When conditions are right (no screaming tides) anglers are limiting out at the reef with healthy stripers up to 40+ pounds. It's real tough fishing during a full moon and fast running tides. Fish way back with enough split shot to get to the fish. Flounder are starting to show and a few have been caught by chummers.

Jumbo stripers invaded the Reedville area in April and May and were easily captured by local anglers and charter boaters. The expectation is that we will be trolling later than usual this year.
Croakers are very plentiful in the rivers and should make a big appearance in the bay later on in May.
Flounder are just starting to show at the "cell" and should be readily available in good sizes by early to mid June.

March 2005
Fished with Duby Lowery the last week in March and using my clear hologram lures (see picture) on top and a mojos on the bottom caught all the stripers we wanted at the cut channel. Based on this week's catch I expect to see a fantastic spring trophy season!
